What to expect at your first BYP Meet Up

Not sure what to expect at your first BYP Meet Up? Our Meet Ups are a great opportunity for low pressure networking in a casual environment. They’re floating, meaning you can come and go as you please to tailor your experience to your schedule and comfort level.

At each Meet Up, you will be greeted by Advisory Board members, who will share any special information about the event as you enter. BYP often provides name tags, but feel free to use your company name tag if you prefer! Usually there is a question about personal or professional interests to get conversation started, which you can participate in through selection of a colored sticker on your name tag. 

After you check in for the event, you can begin mingling with other attendees. If you don’t know anyone, ask an Advisory Board member to introduce you! We’re happy to help you make connections. You can feel comfortable introducing yourself, too — Meet Ups are designed for our community to forge new connections and cultivate learning opportunities across professional fields.

About halfway through the allotted time for the Meet Up, we will sometimes give the floor to a guest speaker – a community partner, leadership expert, or an event sponsor – to share information to enrich your professional journey and engagement with the Burlington community. Otherwise, we just keep the networking going for the whole event!
